In a Land is a gallery and studio working to showcase and support artists of all disciplines. Tucked away in an old textile mill down a cobbled road in Hebden Bridge the gallery is light and airy and is the perfect location to experience the relationship between landscape and industry that is characteristic of the valley.
Alongside the gallery we have an art studio and darkroom and host a range of creative workshops and events. The studio is also home to Hebden Bridge’s Feminist Library, a reference library open to the public containing a number of texts exploring themes including representation, class and feminism.
All are welcome.
I called in to meet Bryony to discuss her requirements for her listing with Visit Hebden Bridge, and what was apparent was her passion for art, writing, and community! Amy wasn’t around on the day but I’ll be popping back to meet her too. It’s clear they’ve both put a lot into In a Land and having a real identity around what they have created, with exhibitions, art clubs, writing clubs and plenty more really cool things to do for all ages. Linden Mill has stood proud for many years overlooking this beautiful town, the views out of the windows in there are incredible and the place has lots of character, a nice echo when you speak, and high ceilings as well as loads of natural light!
A great spot for working from, browsing or attending / hosting workshops! Please do pop in and support them, and follow the links from this listing through to their social media accounts and website. It’s a pleasure to work with In a Land!
