Mytholmroyd is the birthplace of Poet Laureate Ted Hughes, and the charming and vibrant market town of Hebden Bridge (winner of the small market town 2016) is only 1.3 miles away.

Haworth, most famous for its Bronte heritage, can be reached in around half an hour. Shibden Hall, an exquisite, 600 year old timber manor house, set within 37 hectares, is close by as is the Grade l listed Piece Hall, the last remaining example of the great northern cloth halls, which has recently undergone a £19 million restoration programme.

There are many more heritage buildings, beautiful parks and National Trust properties all within an easy commute, such as Hardcastle Crags, Townley Hall, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the picturesque Bolton Abbey.
